my 5 year old son has to be put to sleep for some dental work, its being done in day surgery at the hospital but im really worried
Will asthma effect anestetic in surgery or vice versa?
You must tell the doctors that he has asthma. The anaesthesiologist needs to know to prepare. Good luck.
Reply:It shouldn't, but ask the doctor who is treating your child's Asthma to be sure.
I have Asthma. I have never had any problems with being put to sleep and I have had four surgeries. My Asthma may be a different kind than your son's.
Reply:When I've had surgeries, they always gave me a nebulizer treatment before the procedure was done. Course it's been 8 years since I was last having any surgery done so things may be different now :)
