How do I get dental surgery started?

My dentist said I should get braces so I went to see an orthodontist. The orthodontist said I should see an Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon. When I went to the OMS he said I should see an orthodontist first. Later, through another OMS, I found out I need to see both, orthodontist and surgeon, simultaneously, because the two need to assess the situation together and plan together. How do I make that happen? It seems each one is doing their own thing. I've wasted too much money on evaluations as it is! How do I get past these fruitless evaluations?

Call the surgeon that you have already seen, and tell them that you have been evaluated by both, but you need them to help you get both together. You'll get much better results by going through an office to set it up. Be persistent and make sure that you tell them about your previous evaluation, even offer to get them a copy of your file from the ortho's office.

Good luck!
