What you're describing is not at all unusual for a person who has had many teeth extracted at once.

The pieces of bone sometimes work out by themselves. If you can tell that the pieces are moving outward and you can stand the pain, give it time. If you would rather have immediate relief, go see your dentist. He can remove the pieces for you. It's not as traumatic as the several extractions you had, but it will be invasive. However, you should heal nicely. My dentist doesn't charge for removing bone from an extraction site given; he performed the extraction(s) and it was recently.

Tell them it is an emergency b/c you're in so much pain. They will understand and get you in as soon as possible. Until then, you can use ice or ambesol to ease the pain.

I hope you feel better soon.

Happy Holidays!
Reply:I worked 20 years in surgery, and never in my whole career have I ever heard anything like your describing! Maybe you should call your dental surgeon for a follow up visit, and see whats going on.
