I have dental surgery today, and I'm worried...I know it's going to be just fine, but I don't want to.........

I really don't want to be scared and crying in the office. I don't know if that's possible...I'm just so scared!!!!! Earlier this week I was fine, but now, I am getting more scared by the second. I just want it all to be OVER and DONE!!!!!!! Help, please!! What do I do to calm my nerves? Anyone out there with a previous experience that might help me get through this?!?! PLEASE???!?

Is it an Oral Surgeon or a General Dentist doing the extractions? The OS will put you under so you will not know what is happening. It will go very quickly and you will not remember anything that happens during that time. If a General Dentist is doing it, let them know how you are feeling. They can give you nitrous oxide along with the anesthetic. Take some head phones and relaxing music with you so you can't hear the noises around you. You will be ok. Trust your doctor to take care of you. If you don't, then I wouldn't go to them.
Reply:It is normal to be slightly nervouse before any kind of surgery, dont panic, if u r uncomfortable at any point during the procedure let the dentist know, and they would do anything to make it comfortable. Take your ipod or mp3 player with u and listen to ur favourite music.
