Oral/Dental surgery?

so i have braces. And i have a tooth that won't come in on the bottom. it's a canine tooth and the space is there for it to come in. but it just won't come up. my dentist said they could expose the tooth and put a bracket on and pull it up.





but i am wondering how this would look? and how long it would take. Because the xray showed the tooth would be fine if it just went straight up. so yeah!





also is there any other options?
