Go for it. Loose stitches does not work anyhow.
Reply:Call your dentist. But honestly, I have removed my own stitches before.
Reply:Ask your doctor if it's okay to remove them first.
Reply:no those stiches are made from pig or horse intestens and they will disole on their own if you remove them u will heighten your chance of infection
Reply:Just let them disintegrate, they'll come out by themselves.
Reply:You should have a follow up with you dentist right? I would let him do it, just cause of infection. I would imagine if it got infected its gonna hurt.
Reply:i have but i could see the wound had healed, and had sterilised, new, special thing to do it with. If you get germs in it you wil wish you hadnt touched it. Best go back the dentist
Reply:If you were told that your stitches would dissolve and you were not given an appointment to have them removed and you can really see everything clearly, go ahead. After 7 days, it should be fine. Just DO NOT TUG at them. If they don't come out easily, you better trim the loose ends and either wait longer for the rest to dissolve or go have them removed by the dentist.

If you were given an appointment to come back and get your stitches out (that is, they are not supposed to dissolve), you can trim any really, really loose ends if they are driving you crazy, but you need to get back to the dentist to have it taken care of properly.
Reply:I would be afraid to mess with them and would ask the oral surgeon first.
Reply:no it's not....potential for infection
