I've a dental surgery scheduled this Friday afternoon. The surgery will involve extraction of 4 nos. Wisdom teeth (2 each on both left %26amp; right) and 1 no. Hidden tooth in my gums.
The hospital dentist suggested to remove all 5 of them at one go. I will be aslp throughout the whole process.
My friends think that removing 5 nos. at one go is too dangerous and possibility of getting infection maybe higher.
Is it safe to remove 5 teeth at one go? What other complications would it have, other than wisdom teeth maybe near the nerves? Should I get a 2nd opinion prior to the surgery?
Wisdom teeth surgery (5 teeth at one go) - Is it safe?
i got mine done 3 in one trip and two a month later if it is on different sides it might not be safe I would ask to have 2 separate appointments
Reply:All at once is the better choice. Because once you have one extracted, you'll never want to do it again.
Reply:Obviously the dentists know what they are doing... a lot moreso than your friend. I had my 4 out at once and no problems. It's fun. Give me your vicodin if you don't use it.
Reply:had it done it's ok
Reply:Is it safe?-yes
Is there a risk involved?- with any surgery there is a risk
Is your risk going to be higher?- most likely- more stitches....
What should you do?- at most get 2 or 3 done at once.....
If I don't?- have fun being in pain....
Reply:My hubby did 4 at one go. He couldn't eat for a couple of days, other than that, he was fine
Reply:OMG!!! Its gonna suck but you have to do it all at once. They can remove all of your teeth and it would still be safe, you won't feel any of it anyways. Do it, get it done, prepare for 5 days of pain and then try to forget about the experience.
